PETIR™ drugs represent potent multifunctional peptidase inhibitors (Peptidase Targeted Immune Regulation-PETIR™) that modulate overshooting immune responses. The mode of action is realized by single new molecular entities capable to inhibit two key-regulator peptidases simultaneously. This approach is new, unique and opens up hitherto unknown pathways for the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases, which respond only partially to current forms of treatment. Such diseases include acne, psoriasis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, bronchial asthma and other allergies, transplant rejections and neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
